Children: a key priority
Improving the health of children is important for our city. We’ve made a commitment to reducing inequalities in health and this has to start in childhood.
In the last decade, Bristol has seen a rapid rise in the child population. It is now at its highest for 30 years, due to a steady rise in Bristol’s birth rate and families moving to Bristol.
We also have a growing number of children with complex needs and more children experiencing emotional distress and mental health problems.
Dr Kirsty Alexander highlights Bristol Clinical Commissioning Group’s strategic aim to ensure that all children and young people have access to high quality and responsive services for both physical and mental health in order to ensure the best start in life.
