I joined the NHS in 1980, qualifying as a Registered Nurse at Frenchay Hospital, Bristol. I also have a master’s degree in management and have held board-level roles with Bristol North Primary Care Trust, Yeovil District Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and latterly as Chief Nurse at University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust, prior to taking up my current role.
As a Registered Nurse, the quality of care given to patients has always been my priority and the provision of safe effective and compassionate care is paramount.
For Bristol Clinical Commissioning Group, I ensure that all aspects of service quality are considered, assurance given and improvement encouraged. This means listening to patients and carers and using their experiences to shape services. I also support providers in continually improving and achieving best standards.
