Tara Mistry

Position: Lay Member for Public and Patient Involvement

As a member of the governing body my focus is on patient, public involvement (PPI), working closely with Healthwatch and our diverse communities. I chair the Patient Public Involvement, Equalities and Diversity and Communications (PEC) Group and am a vice chair of the Clinical Commissioning Group. 

My background is in social work/probation service and then lecturing in social work education at Bristol University. I am currently a member of the National Institute for Health Research INVOLVE - a national advisory body providing support and guidance on PPI in health and social care research. I have 15 years experience as a non-executive on a number of health trusts, trustee/vice chair of the voluntary infrastructure organisation (VOSCUR), and have service user involvement in cancer networks and charities.
