What are talking therapies?
Talking therapies give people the chance to talk to someone who’s trained to help them explore their thoughts and feelings and the effect this has on their behaviour and mood.
It can help them work out where their negative feelings and ideas come from and why they are there.
Making positive changes
Understanding all this can help people make positive changes by thinking or acting differently. Talking therapies can help people to take greater control of their lives and improve their confidence.
What this service can offer
This service is for anyone over the age of 18 who is registered with a GP in Bristol.
We are able to offer a wide range of therapies and treatments for a range of issues, including:
- work related stress
- obsessions and compulsions
- post traumatic stress
- anger difficulties
- relationship difficulties
- sexual abuse/rape
- long term health conditions
You can refer yourself via the Bristol Wellbeing Therapies website or through your GP.
