Further to previous statements the ‘preferred bidder’ for the interim provision of Children’s Community Health Services in Bristol and South Gloucestershire has today been confirmed as a partnership involving Sirona care and health Community Interest Company (CIC), Bristol Community Health CIC and Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust.

A full contract award by service commissioners Bristol and South Gloucestershire CCGs, Bristol and South Gloucestershire Councils and NHS England is expected to be announced in the coming weeks, subject to successful completion of the preferred bidder stage.

The purpose of the preferred bidder stage is to resolve any concerns and test the bidder’s ability to work collaboratively to deliver high quality seamless services.

As commissioners, the clinical safety of the service is of paramount importance to us and our main priority is to ensure a safe handover and ensure the best quality service for the children and young people who are using the service.

Parents, children and young people will continue to receive care and support from existing staff so there will be little change to the services provided during the period of the interim contract.

We have started a three-month public consultation exercise, which  was launched in September 2015, to inform a full procurement process to identify a long-term provider for  these services to starting April 2017.
