Following recent reports in the media, NHS Bristol Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) denies claims made by Protect Our NHS that the CCG is colluding with private providers and that GPs are being encouraged to recommend self-pay treatments to patients.

There has been no change in the way patients receive treatment on the NHS, or the range of providers that GPs can refer to for NHS treatment. This includes the Emerson’s Green Treatment Centre.

Care UK is a private healthcare provider, which therefore can offer self-pay treatments to the public. These are completely separate from the NHS. To advertise their self-pay treatments, Care UK sent a price list to GPs across the country for various treatments. This has not been endorsed or supported by the CCG.
